    Caring for your Leather Furniture

Top grain leather furniture is known for its durability and ease of maintenance. Looking after your leather investment is easy.

    BUY QUALITY

You get what you pay for. Make sure you buy 100% top grain leather. Top grain leather will cost more; however, it will last much longer than fabric or other leather derivatives. Splits, bicasts and bonded leather do not belong in this category.

    PREVENT DIRECT SUNLIGHT

Top-grain leather should be placed out of direct sunlight to protect the leather.

    SPILLS AND MARKS

When an accident happens, it should be attended to as soon as possible.

    • Ink – Special leather ink remover cleaners are available and will remove ink when treated immediately. Do not use dish soap, hair spray or other home remedies as they may remove the leather protection and finish and may permanently damage the furniture.

    • Nail Polish – Nail polish removes the protection and finish from leather. A professional leather repair service is recommended.

    • Food or Wine – Remove solid food with a damp soft cloth. Spilled liquid needs to be absorbed with a clean sponge. Then use a soft damp cloth and wipe the affected area.

    • Burns – Cigarette ashes can burn your leather. A professional leather repair service is recommended.

    • Oil Pull Up Marks on Distressed Leathers – Markings in an oil pull up can be gently massaged out. For excessive markings you can use a hair dryer to soften the leather and gently massage the marked area.

    GENERAL TOP GRAIN LEATHER MAINTENANCE

Wipe your top grain leather furniture every three to four weeks or if dirty using a sponge or chamois with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap (no detergents). Rub lightly in a circular motion, then gently wipe dry with a soft cloth.
